Here’s a quick guide for everyone who’s bored of standard nicecream flavours and colours. Black nicecream is edgy, magical and fun to eat. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top for the „galaxy look“ or mix with other nicecream colours like purple, blue and pink for the ultimate galaxy bowl… The only limit is your imagination!
For this recipe, I used activated charcoal from Rawnice. They have lots of natural food colourings in their store, my favourite being blue spirulina which I use all the time! You can get 15% off everything with the code: Laurafruitfairy15 *
They make the best natural food colourings I’ve tried so far. And they’re often sold out so you have to be quick when they restock! What’s also cool is that they ship worldwide.

The recipe is super simple, using only 3 ingredients. You could even leave out the nut butter for plain banana ice cream but I like to add some extra creaminess and depth of flavour with fatty nuts. The nut butter of my choice this time was homemade brazil nut butter which you get by simply blending 1-2 cups of brazil nuts until smooth and creamy. My latest addiction! I eat about a tablespoon every day to get my selenium. 🙂
Other nut butter types that go well with nicecream are cashew butter, almond butter, pistachio butter, pumpkin seed butter and peanut butter. Since the color is black anyway, you could even add some cacao powder! Get creative and have fun.
Now let’s make some black hole nicecream!
